Kick off – Drop Kick
Kick off – if the ball hits the ground and then rolls over the back line before touching a player it’s a line drop out by the defending team.
Kick off - If the kick-off goes over the dead-ball line on the full, a penalty to the defending team will be given back at the ½ way line.
Kick off – if the ball hits the ground and then rolls over the side line, it’s a roll ball in 5m by the defending team.
Touched In goal - If touched in possession in your defending try line, a line drop out will result.
Scorers Kick - After a try is scored (scorers kick), as well as the start of the game and half time.
The ball may travel at any height
The team kicking off cannot contest the ball until after it has landed and gone 10m or the opposition has touched it.
Kicks in General play can be made any time after the 4th touch and at any height, but you cannot kick the ball a 2nd time until after you have regained possession. You must regain the ball and then kick.
If a kick in general play goes over the dead ball line, the defending team will restart play 10m outside their try line.
Cammeray Dropped Ball Rule – if the ball goes to ground the defending team can pick it up and run so it’s important the team who dropped it, grounds the ball with their hand.
